Assignment overview

The study supported assessment of India transport-sector emission trajectories, energy demand and alternative policy scenarios. It captured driving patterns, refuelling and vehicle operations together with awareness of and purchase intention for battery-electric vehicles.

Scope of work

Activities performed

  • Conducted a 2,200-sample field survey with private and commercial vehicle owners and drivers.
  • Covered 100 petrol/CNG pumps, EV charging stations and transport hubs across 12 states and one Union Territory.
  • Included two-wheelers, three-wheelers, private cars, taxis and light, medium and heavy goods vehicles.
  • Collected on-road evidence from locations inside and outside major cities.
